Stressed about tests/exams? No need to worry! Fellow students share how they cope with their test anxiety through easy, helpful ways to manage their stress.
Julie Black, freshman: “I like to sleep off any stress as it comes to me. Usually wearing comfortable clothing really helps me as well.”
Talley Murphy, sophomore: “I just try and break each exam review down so I don’t have to cram. I just study a little in each subject every night. I’ve learned that cramming everything the night before will get you nowhere and just creates more stress.”
Taylor Hatjioannou, junior: “The best way I cope with testing anxiety is just to relax. I’ve learned through past experiences that stressing the night before is unhealthy and just makes me perform worse on tests. Usually the night before I always take a warm bath (with a bath bomb) and listening to soothing music.”
Claudia Shaffer, junior: “I try not to think about the outcome of my test and focus on doing my best. Once you start your test you can’t do anything about how little or much you prepared so I just take it easy.”
Caroline Carter, senior: “I don’t let my stress get in the way of my studying. I try to disregard it and take it slow and breathe. The more I think about stress the worse I do. I like to take my mind off of anxiety by listening to music.”
