Q: How long have you been playing volleyball?

A: I’ve been playing for about six years now, and this is my third year playing on the varsity team here [at plant].

Q: How did you start playing volleyball?

A: I was becoming a little too tall for gymnastics, and I wanted to do a sport where my height gave me an advantage. I had a teacher at the time who was a former All-American volleyball player and she encouraged me to try it, so now I’m so glad that I did.

Q: What position do you play?

A: I play outside hitter.

Q: What is your favorite pump up song?

A: [My favorite pump up song is] definitely ‘Gold Digger’ by Kanye West because it has a fun beat and sounds great when we play it in our gym.

Q: What are your plans for volleyball in the future?

A: I’m going to continue to play for Plant and my club, and then I hope to play in college.

Q: What colleges are you looking at for volleyball?

A: Right now, Harvard University, University of Pennsylvania, and Georgia Tech are looking at me to possibly play for their teams.

Q: What is your biggest goal for the season?

A: To win districts.

Q: What are you most excited for this season?

A: I am excited about our new coach, Margeaux Sinibaldi, who is great. Also, I’m excited to get better individually and as a team.

Q: What is the most valuable thing you’ve learned from playing volleyball?

A: I’ve learned that you always have to work as a team in order to succeed.

Q: What is the hardest part of playing volleyball?

A: The hardest thing about playing volleyball is having to move on immediately from an error in a game and just focus on the next point.

Q: What keeps you motivated while playing?
A: The excitement of the game and the drive to win motivates me to push for success.
