JV Football Season Ends

JV football players wrap up their season with an astounding 50-0 victory against Bloomingdale at Dad’s Stadium Thursday, Oct. 22nd. Throughout the entire season the boys have put in loads of blood, sweat and tears, and gave it their all for the last time.

JV players Micah McFadden (sophomore), Romello Walters (sophomore), Gavin Jones (freshman), and Sean O’ Keeffe (freshman) were asked about their highlights of the season.

What was the best experience of the whole season for you? Why?

Micah: The best experience of JV was scoring my first touchdown. It was very exciting because everybody cheered me on.

Sean: My best experience was the first home game because it was my first high school football game, and there was a great atmosphere.

Romello: The best experience was winning the Gaither game, our biggest rival.

Gavin: My favorite experience was the Gaither game when we made a huge comeback in the fourth quarter.

Which was your favorite game/most intense and why?

Micah: My favorite game was Gaither because it was a comeback win, and we lost to them last year, as well as the most intense game because we were losing and we came back and scored a game-winning touchdown by my boy Romello with a minute left.

Sean: My favorite game was the last one because I had a lot of fun celebrating the season and looking back on all of the great memories. The gather game was the most intense because we had a challenge that we had to overcome.

Romello: Most intense game was against Gaither; I had the opportunity to put the team on my back and it was an overwhelming experience.

Gavin: The most intense game and my most favorite experience was the Gaither game because of our huge comeback. It was definitely my favorite game of the season.

Do you have any pregame rituals?

Micah: My pregame ritual is that some of my friends and I pray.

Sean: I don’t have any rituals besides listening to music.

Romello: Before game rituals I either have Extreme Juice or Chick Fil a.

Gavin: The only pregame rituals that I have is plugging in some music and try to mentally prepare myself for the game.

Describe any improvements made throughout the season and if you have achieved any goals.

Micah: I achieved my goal of scoring my first high school touchdown.

Sean: Everyone on the team improved in some way and even though we didn’t get the perfect season we wanted, we still had a lot of fun.

Romello:   An improvement I made was putting the team before me and being aware that a team is more important than one individual player.

Gavin: We’ve all improved in some way and have worked hard all season to get where we want to be.

Do you feel a good support system from your other teammates?

Micah: One of our teammates threw up because he was cheering so much; we are a family.

Sean: The support of the team was one of the best parts because if you missed a tackle or dropped a pass everyone would pick you up, and if you made a great play everyone would congratulate you.

Romello: I feel a great support system from my team no matter if I make a bad play or a great play, they are there to support me regardless.

Gavin: There is definitely a very strong support system among my teammates. We do everything together. We always know that someone has our backs no matter what happens.
