AMC theaters releases plans to reopen
The film industry is making a move as AMC is reopening many of their theaters across the nation. To make up for the lack of movie production across the globe, due to the coronavirus outbreak, AMC theaters are displaying movies from past years, including the original “Jurassic Park” from 1993 and “Rocky” form 1976. Before these 20th century movies and other recent films can be viewed, there are certain regulations that must be followed:
Masks Required for Everyone Every guest and staff member is required to wear a mask that covers their nose and mouth is cozily snug around their chin. This does not include, open-chin bandanas, neck gaiters, and masks with exhalation valves or vents. If the appropriate masks aren’t worn, entry will be prohibited. Although, there are allowable masks for purchase for just $1.00.
Social Distancing To encourage social distancing directions and reminders are arranged throughout the theater to remind and help the guests to keep an appropriate distance from one another.
Reduced Auditorium Volumes The auditoriums are at a capacity of 40% or less. Theaters acquired with new ticketing technology will block the one seat on either side of your selection to accomplish social distancing. Further, there is enough space between the rows to not cause a problem. If your theater does not have the new ticketing technology, then make sure to keep an appropriate distance from other guests.
Snacks and Beverages in the Auditorium When enjoying food and drinks, movie-goers can remove masks, but masks are still required during any other time.
Simplified Menu Selections For more efficiency and less interaction, Concessions have simplified their selection. As of now, AMC Perfectly Popcorn, Coca-Cola drinks, hot dogs, nachos, candy, AMC KidsPacks, and other items are still available for selection.
Cashless Transactions Credit, debit, or AMC gift cards are preferred over cash when buying tickets to reduce interaction. Although, cash will still be accepted. To avoid further contact, cash at concessions and the bar will only be accepted if no other form of payment is available, but cashless transactions are still preferred.
Condiments by Request Movie-goers must ask the cashier for any condiment, such as napkins, straws, butter, ketchup, and more, to induce more social distancing.
Disinfecting Stations Hand sanitizer and disinfecting–wipe–stations are placed throughout the theater. Don’t shy away from taking advantage of these.
Daily Crew Health Screenings Staff members and managers have their temperatures read every day before their shift. If they are found with a fever or any symptoms, they are required to quarantine themselves for at least 72 hours.
Check Your Own Health If you are experiencing a fever, any symptoms, or have been in contact with someone who has, please take this time to take care of yourself, and come back when you are healthy again.
