A cookie box worth nearly $200 is a new way to treat oneself. Since launching in August 2020 Last Crumb’s mission is to serve exclusive and premium cookies, that are worth a Michelin star. Last Crumb uses a “drop” model for its cookie shipments, releasing them weekly in limited quantities, much like luxury streetwear companies, making the cookies exclusive and premium.

If you think Crumbl Cookies are amazing, try Last Crumb. A luxurious and exclusive box that requires to join a waitlist to get one. Aside from that, it costs nearly $200 including shipping, but every bite is worth the dollar.

Since launching in August 2020 Last Crumb’s mission is to serve exclusive and premium cookies, that are worth a Michelin star. The company’s 12 core flavors range from gourmet-ified classics—like the peanut butter-chocolate Madonna—to creative mashups- like the malt ball- and Oreo-stuffed James Dean.

As mentioned, Last Crumb uses a “drop” model for its cookie shipments, releasing them weekly in limited quantities, much like luxury streetwear companies. To get a box, one must join the waitlist, a technique to add a sense of exclusiveness and mysteriousness to the bakery.

In an interview with Fortune, the cofounder and head chef Derek Jaeger highlighted the “drop” choice for the bakery.

“We chose the drop model, keeping in mind how intensive our cookie creation process is, as well as our limitations for creating the perfect cookie. Thus, we implemented the drop model anticipating capping it at our production limit with the goal of meeting that mark. We’ve since well surpassed that goal and are looking to expand quickly,” Jaeger said.

However, in the time it takes to ask oneself, “should I really be spending $140 on 12 cookies?”, Last Crumb’s latest drop is likely to have sold out. With over 60k Instagram followers and nearly 80k TikTok fans, this company has plenty of admirers in the waitlist.

The treats are handmade in L.A. using a proprietary three-day dough preparation process, not to mention a slew of inventive, and quality mix-ins. Additionally, the cookie names are eye-catching as the 50 Cent (a birthday cake cookie) or The Floor is Lava (a molten chocolate cookie).

Each cookie is made daily, packaged in a sealed bag with a humorous description and the ingredients, and shipped within 3-4 days in a pack of 12 in the luxurious box. At first, it may appear like you accidentally bought a Dior bag, that’s how good the packaging is.

There are a limited number of boxes shipped directly to consumers every week. While the set is at about $12 a cookie, this box is also all about the experience as much as it is the cookies themselves. The shipment includes an aesthetic guide to all the flavors that tells the inspiration and ingredients that go into each one. Reading along while tasting makes eating the cookies much more pleasing, just like the experience at a five-star restaurant.

However, many realize that the following of Crumbl Cookies is higher than for Last Crumb, but the audiences are different. At Crumbl Cookies, one gets a box for $20-$30 and eats until they are sugar high with a headache. But at Last Crumb, it is different, as they make this one-time experience much more luxurious and high-class, helping one to savor every bite.
