The Purge comes to life

The Purge comes to life

The movie the Purge: Anarchy has sent 14 states in the United States into a panic. In this movie the government sponsors one night of crime for 12 hours in which theft and murder are legal. Last week a Louisville teenager posted a call for a real life purge set to occur on Friday August 15th. While it was discovered that this post was a prank, the threat in other cities persists. On Friday August 22 a real life purge is scheduled to occur in Philadelphia.

Due to the possible reality of the threat, police are on guard in order to prevent any possibility of this occurring. Texas is also under watch as a purge is supposed to happen in Huntsville, Conroe, New Waverly and the Woodlands on August 29. While many people believe these threats are a hoax, many others are frightened. Businesses have been negatively affected, losing customers and closing on the night of the alleged purge in their respective towns. Despite the fallacy in many of these threats, police will be alert, making sure no crime goes without consequence.

People that posted these threats on social media are also under investigation and police are seeing whether these posts constitute a crime themselves.
