Buccaneers Season
Can the Buccaneers get back to the top?
After falling short of the Super Bowl last season, the Buccaneers are stacking up a roster of championship players ready to take the field. Their offense includes the seven-time Super Bowl champion, Tom Brady, with receivers Julio Jones, Chris Godwin, and Mike Evans. Their defense was also ranked 5th for the 21-22 season.
Students at Plant have many different theories on how the Bucs will do during the 22-23 season. Senior Amara Woodward says, “The Bucs are not going to win this season without Gronk.” Rob Gronkowski had over 800 yards last season and scored six touchdowns in only 12 games. The head coach has signed tight end Kyle Rudolph to replace him after Gronkowski retired at the end of last year.
On the other hand, senior Tanner Strickland says, “They can win as long as they have Tom Brady.” At 45, Brady has been branded as playing the best football of his career in recent years. After 22 seasons, speculation has risen over if he can stay healthy for the entirety of the year to lead his team into the playoffs.
Head Coach of the Buccaneers, Todd Bowles, has created a lineup with eight Pro Bowl selections to create a super-team ready to bring the Lombardi Trophy back to Tampa Bay. The New York Post has ranked Tampa Bay as the second most likely to win the Super Bowl this season, right behind the Buffalo Bills. Do you think the Bucs have what it takes to win it all this season?
