Super Bowl LVII will occur on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2023. Now, it is a well-known fact how iconic the Super Bowl halftime show is every year; prominent artists such as Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga, and Madonna are definitely why some fans tune in and watch every year. In essence, it is a massive deal to headline the Super Bowl halftime show, and this season’s artist has just recently been released. None other than Rihanna.

Rihanna has had so many hits in her lifetime but has not released music since 2016, when her album “Anti” came out. She previously turned down the opportunity to perform at the 2019 Super Bowl half-time show, to show support for football player and activist Colin Kaepernick.

“I couldn’t dare do that. For what?” Rihanna told Vogue about her decision to not perform. “Who gains from that? Not my people. I just couldn’t be a sellout. I couldn’t be an enabler. There’s things within that organization that I do not agree with at all, and I was not about to go and be of service to them in any way.”

The 32-year-old woman has also made her mark as an entrepreneur. Rihanna was the first woman of color to launch a luxury fashion brand. Recently, the former pop star has been focusing on her companies, such as Savage X Fenty, Feny Beauty, and Fenty Skin. It has been quite a few years since the artist stepped foot on stage.

Rihanna has been such an influence on so many people’s lives across the world. Just when she turned 18, Rihanna founded the BELIEVE foundation, which is a charity to help critically ill children. She has recently donated 15 million dollars to fight climate change and injustice. In 2012, Rihanna founded the “Clara Lionel foundation,” otherwise known as the CLF, which supports and funds education and health programs around the world.
