Winter Village at Curtis Hixon Park Returns to Tampa
On Nov. 18, the Winter Village at Curtis Hixon Park in Tampa reopened so that guests could start to get in the holiday spirit. Each year, the Winter Village, located in the heart of Downtown Tampa, offers fun activities for families to enjoy, such as ice skating, shopping, sports games, and performances from various local artists. It is open until Jan. 4, 2023, so everyone who wants to attend the village has the chance to do so.
The most recognized activity at the village is the ice-skating rink. Many are fascinated with the rink because it is outdoors and can stay frozen despite the Florida heat. The outdoor rink allows for ice skaters to participate in winter activities with a view of the Hillsborough River and palm trees.
In addition to the ice-skating rink, the village offers fun sports-related games, such as curling, as well as movie screenings. The Tampa Theatre partners with the village each year to provide a large screen to play the most loved Christmas movies. In previous years, the 2003 film Elf has been broadcast onto the screen for everyone in the park to enjoy.
As well as these activities, the village offer specific events for children. Each night, Santa attends the village for children who would like to take photos and share what their wishes are for this Christmas. They can also participate in the Curtis Hixon Park Choo Choo, which is a small train ride that takes kids around the park to showcase all the holiday related things Curtis Hixon has to offer.
The Winter Village at Curtis Hixon Park offers holiday and winter activities for people of all ages. Although the village is mostly free and run on a first come first served basis, tickets for ice skating are required. To get tickets click this link below.
