The Bay Rocket Review

Bella Mangione

The Bay Rocket is a fun 45-minute boating experience that I highly recommend. It has 180 degrees spins and turns and it can reach speeds of up to 50 mph.

The Bay Rocket is located just off Harbour Island, and it will take you out to the bay for a 45-to-55-minute ride, where it can reach speeds of 50 mph. When you are out in the bay, it will also do “180 degrees, spins, turns, and bow dips,” according to the Bay Rockets website, which will be linked below.

I went for one of my friend’s birthday, and it was so much fun. A word of advice, though, if you are a minor, you will need a parent present to sign a waiver for you if you do not complete it online. The tickets can be bought online. For a child (ages 5-12) ticket, the price starts at $29.95; for an adult ticket, the price is $34.95. Once you arrive at the dock, these can be purchased online or in person.

Once the ride starts, it takes about 15 to 20 minutes to get out to the bay. This is because of the speed limit being so low in the harbor. However, once you are finally out in the bay, time flies. You will get wet on this boat ride, and depending on where you sit determines how wet you get. We sat in the back of the boat, and you won’t be drenched there by the time the ride is over. However, at the front of the boat, you will get wet.

I recommend sitting in the back because you can feel the boat’s motions more there, and that is where the boat moves the most. Many people will purchase a poncho before they board the boat to avoid getting their clothes too wet during the ride.

If you dislike rollercoasters, I think you will still enjoy this boat ride. It is not as extreme as some of the coasters at the theme parks today, but it really depends on the person.

Overall, this is a great activity to participate in with your friends. It is a lot of fun, and there are many things to do after the ride because of its close location to downtown Tampa.
