Plant earns A rating in annual report

Plant High proves their “strength through unity” by earning an A score in their annual school evaluation released Dec. 18, 2014. The recent report by the Department of Education marks Plant’s recovery from last year’s grade, a B caused by a letter drop technicality.

The grade model is based off of a 1600 point scale considering factors such as graduation rates, FCAT scores and EOC performance. Plant scored within the range of 1120-1600 points, earning an A grade. In the past year, Principal Rob Nelson focused on improving the graduation rate of at-risk students as well as improving federal graduation rates, which raised 3 percent.

“I’m very proud of the work and dedication of the staff and the students at Plant High,” Nelson said.
