The winter season is finally fading which means it’s the brink of spring. The warm weather is the peak time to create a new playlist to get ready for the seasons.

Tampa is warming back up just in time for spring break and a sneak peek into summer. Some usual activities involving the warmer seasons include beach and picnic days, pool parties, road trips, adventurous walks which are also perfect events for a summer playlist. Everyone has different music taste but hopefully the songs I recommend can be enjoyable to everyone despite their personal preferences.

A summer playlist can consist of a multitude of genres like rap, reggae, pop, country etc. Personally, I don’t like rap as much for a neutral summer playlist because I feel that summer would be types of lighter music like reggae and country. However, I think rap can fit better in a summer night playlist.  Considering all those factors I recommended songs that can fit into a summer playlist of your choice. You can access these songs on apps like Spotify and Apple Music.

  • Sublime: “Doin’ Time”, “Badfish”, “Santeria”, “Waiting for my Ruca”
  • Slightly Stoopid: “Closer to the Sun”, “Collie man”, “Sweet Honey”, “Bandelero”, “Officer”, “Stay the Same”, “Nobody knows”, “If You Want It”, “2am”, “Mona June”
  • Bob Marley: “Is this Love”, “Could You Be Loved”, “Jamming”, “Sun is Shining”, “Three Little Birds”, “Buffalo Soldier”, “Stir it Up”, “Waiting in Vain”, “One Drop”, “World on Fire”, “Africa Unite”, “Get Up, Stand Up”, “So Much Trouble in the World”, “No Woman, No Cry”, “One Love”, “Satisfy My Soul”, “Natural Mystic”
  • Jack Johnson: “Banana Pancakes”, “Sitting, Waiting, Wishing”, “Better Together”, “Upside Down”
  • Stick figure: “Edge of the Ocean”, “World on Fire”
  • Rebelution: “Feeling Alright”, “Suffering”, “Lazy Afternoon”
  • MGMT: “Time to Pretend”, “Kids”, “Electric Feel”
  • 311: “Amber”, “I’ll Be Here Awhile”
