In light of the upcoming donation drive, Mercy for Mercyfull, it is important to know who you are donating to. The wonderful staff and volunteers who make the operation possible work around the clock in order to help all the dogs in every way they can. Animals frequently go in and out of the shelter, so it is hard to find constants. In this article, the animals will be listed were found in the shelter anywhere from October 27th to November 3rd. Let’s meet the animals!
Mama, a Pitbull mix, gave birth to a litter of puppies. They are around two weeks old as of today, and are learning the ropes of being a dog. They opened their eyes over the past week, and have become very curious as to what is in the world around them. Most of the brothers and sisters have different colored coats ranging from pure black to light brown with blue eyes.
In addition with the puppies, there are many other dogs in the shelter. One of these dogs is Doug. Doug’s legs do not work, and as a result, he was surrendered. He is still young, and has so much life in him that Mercyfull is working hard to keep alive. Whenever he is out roaming in the yard, he tends to go toward the puppies, and give them love. This simple act of kindness always calmed the puppies down, and made Doug a hero in their hearts and ours.
Then, there is Antonio. Antonio is a sweetheart with a big heart for people. He loves playing with toys, and running around in the yard. He will hug anyone who gives him scratches and is the sweetest baby.
All of these animals only scratch the surface of the animals Mercyfull helps. They dedicate themselves to serving the community, and helping all animals in need. They take in any animals who need their help with open arms ready to provide a loving community. Mercyfull takes dogs, cats, bunnies, even a rooster as of right now, and they are always ready to take on more.
That is why there is a student-led fundraiser currently being held. All of those animals deserve love and support, and that is what the Plant community can provide. Donations of towels, blankets, metal food bowls, any animal food, toys, and more are being collected in the front office and room 125 as of November 11th through November 15th. Show love and compassion for the animals by banding together as a community to make this successful!
