On Oct 28. 2024, Tyler, The Creator released a new album called “CHROMAKOPIA”. The new album includes guest features from Daniel Caesar, Lil Wayne, Childish Gambino, Schoolboy Q, and other artists. “CHROMAKOPIA” was written, produced, and arranged by Tyler himself. This is Tyler’s seventh album and he continues to climb in popularity. He fills his album with deep meaning and is lyrically talented. Here are a few of my top songs from the album listed below.
“St. Chroma (feat. Daniel Caesar)”
This song is the opening song of the new album. This song includes a feature from Daniel Caesar, one of my favorite artists. In my opinion, Daniel Caesar’s part could have been more prominent in this song. Before the album was released, Tyler released a music video for this song. In the music video, he opens with a group of people with their faces hidden marching in what it seems to be the middle of f nowhere, making it a mysterious and intriguing mystery of what the album will be like. This song serves as an introduction to an album that will be different from all of his other tracks.
“Rah Tah Tah”
This song is an upbeat, fast-tempo rap song. In “Rah Tah Tah”, he expresses how he has changed over the years his music style but doesn’t care about how other people might react towards his music. Acting confidently, while also talking about how others have tried to copy his style, saying he’s the only original one in the industry. This song is one of my favorites on the album. It has a catchy background and flow to it.
“Noid”
In “Noid”, Tyler opens with a strong performance, using a powerful guitar solo and singing. This track talks about dealing with fame and all the problems that it has given him. Like mentioning “I can’t even buy a home in private” or “I want peace but can’t afford you”. In quotes like these, we can see that Tyler has been struggling with inner peace due to his fans and people always judging him, looking at him, or trying to find out more about his personal life. Tyler also talks about how dealing with new people in his life seems complicated when it comes to trust. He also adds an interlude that says “Don’t trust these people out here, whatever you do keep it to yourself”. This demonstrates how his family and closer people to him have warned him about the dangers of meeting new people and giving them a chance in your life. In conclusion, this track serves as a reminder to all his fans that he is also a person and needs his personal space and life like everybody else. I think the deep meaning of this song makes it more special and impressive.
