Working everyday to make the Plant yearbook a possibility is no strange notion to Haley Caudullo. However, even thought she is just a sophomore, Caudullo has had her eyes set on becoming a part of the yearbook staff for many years.
“My sister had been a designer, and I was on the yearbook staff at my previous school, so I thought it was an interesting class that used software I was already familiar with,” Caudullo described.
Although she wanted to become a part of yearbook, Caudullo still recognized that there would be a learning cure necessary to take before jumping into the daunting task of designing. Before taking yearbook, Caudullo took a class called Panther Tales where she was able to learn how to more effectively use software, take pictures, design frames, and much more.
Caudullo said that taking Panther Tales allowed her to, “Learn how to use the programs needed and how to design before becoming an actual designer my sophomore year.”
Even with all her preparation, joining the yearbook did not come without it’s own set of trials and tribulations.
It is very stressful, this year because it always looked amazing so I’m always worried where I produce might not be as good as previous years,” Caudullo stated.
However, that stress came with its own positive effects.
Even with all the accompanying stress, Caudullo still spoke highly of the class, stating, “I love meeting new people and becoming close with them because it makes the experience so enjoyable, and I’m so grateful for that part.”
When finally asked if Caudullo regretted the decision to become a designer as opposed to other paths such as staffer, she responded by saying, “I am much more comfortable on the computer, and I feel as thought I made the right decision.”
Caudullo plans to continue on with her yearbook path for the rest of her high school career, and put effort into everything she does.
