As summer fades and the temperatures cool, Tampa becomes an ideal destination for celebrating fall. From pumpkin patches and Oktoberfest celebrations to family-friendly activities and local traditions, Tampa’s fall schedule is packed with seasonal fun.
Hyde Park Village Pumpkin Patch
Hyde Park Village is one of Tampa’s most festive fall destinations, running from Oct. 1-31. Its pumpkin patch is a perfect photo spot and supports a great cause—proceeds benefit the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. Visitors can choose pumpkins of all sizes and shapes, enjoy fall-themed crafts and meet adoptable pets at select events throughout the month. It’s a fun way to celebrate the season while giving back to the community.
McCall Hardy, a junior, regularly visits the Hyde Park pumpkin patch to mark the start of fall. “My favorite aspect of the pumpkin patch is that there are fall decorations, and it gives Tampa more seasonal spirit overall,” Hardy said.
Keel Farms Harvest Days
Another fall favorite is Keel Farms Harvest Days, held every weekend in October in Plant City. Known for its scenic vineyards and welcoming atmosphere, Keel Farms offers hayrides, corn mazes, local craft booths and live entertainment. Families can pick their own pumpkins, sip farm-fresh cider and enjoy the countryside setting.
Combining Tampa’s rural roots with modern-day fun, Keel Farms has become a popular weekend getaway for locals.
Grand Pumpkin Patch in Seminole Heights
For those closer to the city, Seminole Heights hosts the Grand Pumpkin Patch from Oct. 3-30. This neighborhood celebration offers something for all ages and is typically run by local schools and churches, with proceeds benefiting community projects or charities.
The event features face painting, games, food booths and a relaxed atmosphere, making it ideal for families with young children or anyone looking for a laid-back autumn outing.
The tradition of carving pumpkins remains a favorite fall pastime. “Every fall, as a child, all my neighbors would do a pumpkin carving contest,” said Ella Graham, a junior. “When I think of fall, it reminds me of that tradition.” Tampa’s many pumpkin patches help keep this tradition alive.
Oktoberfest Tampa
No fall season would be complete without Oktoberfest. Tampa celebrates German culture with a craft beer festival over the final weekend of October, Oct. 10-12, at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park.
Oktoberfest Tampa features live music, dancing, contests and classic German foods like pretzels and bratwurst. Visitors can enjoy local and imported beers while taking in views of Tampa’s downtown skyline. Now in its fourth year, the event draws thousands of attendees and has become one of Tampa’s signature fall activities.
A Season to Remember
As October comes to a close, Tampa’s fall festivities remind residents why this season is so special. From community involvement and charity support to outdoor fun, the city offers something for everyone. Whether you’re sipping cider at Keel Farms, exploring the Hyde Park pumpkin patch or dancing at Oktoberfest, Tampa’s fall season is a celebration of togetherness, tradition, and joy.
