‘Legally Blonde’ impresses audiences
This year’s spring musical, Legally Blonde, was an entertaining and comedic version similar to the movie. The musical started off on a shaky note when the understudy for Elle Woods took over. However, after four performances, the understudy, Hannah Patterson, showed that she was capable and talented of playing the role.
With the musical following the movie closely, the musical had a few key differences that improved its performance. The musical put more comedy into it, which captivated its whole audience. The ensemble also added popular culture into it by having some of the dancers “whip” and “nae nae” on stage.
The musical also had costumes that perfectly fit each of the performers. The lead, Elle Woods, was dressed in pink in almost every scene which helped portray her sassy character and help tell the story in a more effective way. They also had her sorority sisters dressed up accurately to their personalities.
