The Best Day of the Year
‘National Coffee Day’ gives people a reason to celebrate
Incredible love for coffee has turned into a nationally proclaimed holiday. According to some students’ planners and many local coffee places, September 29 is recognized officially as National Coffee Day. This is the day to celebrate coffee, a drink that carries most people through their days at work, school, etc.
As a good sales tactic, many places are giving out discounted prices on coffee or deals for people as a way to increase their sales and make people in the area happy. Some stores are even using the day as a way to give back to the community and donating to charity or people in other parts of the world.
Places such as Mini Donut Factory are giving people one dollar off of coffee, while places like Dunkin Donuts are giving people 66 cent medium hot coffees all day as a way of honoring the holiday. Krispy Kreme is giving customers free coffee and a free donut. Wawa is giving people a free cup of coffee as well.
Places like McDonald’s and Starbucks are using the day as a reason to give back. For example, Starbucks is giving a coffee tree to farming families for every cup of Mexico Chiapas coffee bought on this holiday.
There are many speculations to the origin of National Coffee Day, but most countries observe September 29 as the official day.
Dunkin Donuts even has a special snapchat filter that says “National Coffee Day” for people when they are on the property or near the store. They usually have a Dunkin snapchat filter that appears regularly, but they created an additional filter just for the day. This marketing ploy is a great way to notify more friends of the day and spread the word about the discounted coffee.
The best news of all is that the celebration continues. Saturday is International Coffee Day. According to CNN, the intergovernmental International Coffee Organization announced that October 1 would be the international coffee day which is celebrated among countries all over the world.
However, today, September 29, is the day to raise your plastic Dunkin cup to the drink that saves lives.

I love reading pepoplant–especially this year. I’m especially enjoying knowing today is National Coffee Day and learning what tomorrow’s leaders are thinking and experiencing.
Kudos to writers and editors!
