Currently, there is a massive trend going around America involving clowns. Not the friendly, birthday clowns, it’s all about the killer clowns.

There have been a decent amount of sightings of these clowns around the country, but a few are enough to cause a nationwide scare.

Many Instagram accounts and Twitter accounts have been dedicated to this trend already. While some are just trying to scare people, some are trying to help the situation.

On Twitter, @Clown_Sightings posts updates told to them by people when they see a clown. Many of these sightings are reportedly fake, and the account has tweeted about our very own high school.

The account also post videos of supposed clown encounters, , as people do not usually drive in the middle of nowhere while recording in case of encountering a clown.

The account is trying to spread awareness of people being in possible danger, but many people are taking advantage of this and are trying to scare people in their area by faking it.

Even though many of these sightings have been set up, there have been actual encounters of people with crazy clowns.

One man was shot, and critically wounded, because he dressed up as a clown and tried scaring people.

Even though it may be funny to some people, it is really causing extreme issues for others. Clowns used to be a fun and entertaining act that people enjoyed to go see, but as society’s perception has changed, their opinion on clowns have changed.
