Recently, videos and pictures of rolled ice cream have taken over the internet and captured the attention of “foodies” worldwide. For weeks, viewers of these satisfying and hunger inducing videos have been anticipating the arrival of this food trend to our community and finally, it’s here.

Ice Smile is a Japanese style rolled ice restaurant that allows customers to experience ice cream in its new form. Made by pouring melted ice cream onto a subzero surface and incorporating an array of toppings to create an assortment of flavors, the mixture is spread thin to allow it to freeze and is then scraped off the surface to create a roll.  The wonderful range of flavors permits its visitors to try different combinations one would not normally think of, while still offering some of the classics. Two hours is a long wait for most things yet, Ice Smile entertains its customers with a front row seat to the creation of their delicacies and the walls provide humor, as they are decorated with a spread of sticky notes, all of which have been signed by past visitors including notes of the restaurant and jokes that send laughter through the establishment.
