Pro: Cold Weather provides mixed emotions for students

Winter is finally here in Tampa. The colder weather provides people with the opportunity to experience real seasons.

Throughout the year Florida doesn’t truly experience seasons. The colors of the leaves don’t change and the temperature usually ranges from 70-100 degrees.

This cold weather provides a much needed break from Florida’s nonstop heat.

From November to January clothing stores stock mostly winter inventory. This weather provides an opportunity to wear these warmer clothes. It’s finally time to wear boots, scarfs, sweaters, hats, and jackets!

Sweat. It’s something that is commonly happens throughout the sunny Florida season. Along with the cooler weather comes a lower humidity, so you can now go outside without worrying about being covered in sweat.

This weather is also a time to participate in winter activities. You can now go for a walk without sweating and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate that won’t overheat you.

It’s beautiful outside Tampa. Go for a hike or spend the day outdoors. Enjoy the nice weather while it lasts.

Con: Cold Weather brings depression

Around this time of the year in Florida, the temperatures begin to drop. Winter does not really exist around Florida, as it has not snowed in Tampa since January of 1977.

Most people move to Florida to escape the colder weather. The temperature considered cold in Florida would be in the low 40s, which is nothing compared to the north where temperatures go into the negatives and snow pours down on a regular basis.

Prior to winter, there are many cold fronts that come through that hit for a few days. These come every once in a while and hit for a few days, before the weather returns to its normal in December of around 60 degrees.

This cold weather is a problem. Moving to Florida should get rid of all cold weather, because of its location. This is not the case, though, as temperatures are dropping currently and people are preparing for the cold.

These cold weathers are not ideal, as temperatures in the 70s are what people seem to enjoy most, as it is not too cold and not too hot, and if temperatures could just remain around that in the winter, it would be enjoyed by more people.
