The men’s college basketball tournament bubble teams are decided by the basketball teams and coaches. For now the teams from Marquette, Mount St. Mary’s, Arkansas and UC Davis will make the tournament

As March Madness approaches some teams are cemented into the tourney, but there are still those whose journey is up in the air.

The eight teams that jump start the games and wreck the tournament brackets from time to time. With a month of thrilling games, buzzer beaters, and crying Cinderella stories, who better than to pick the best brackets then the boys and girls basketball squads.

The bubble options are Clemson University, Marquette, Mount St. Mary’s, New Orleans, Seaton Hall, Arkansas, UC Davis and finally Texas Southern.

Before the brackets out let’s diagram the bubble matchups. As it stands right now the season isn’t over and if you look at matchups versus similar teams Clemson has a definite edge but Clemson’s matchup in these last weeks have people counting them out.

It doesn’t help that Clemson has had an unfortunate run of form and them playing the strongest ACC sides. In there closing six games they face, Miami FL, Florida State, and a hot Virginia Tech team coming off of a strong upset against rivals Virginia.

I can see them going .500 in these last games and all things considered they can give Virginia Tech fits and may give Miami a run for there money but it’s doubted. Going four and two in the last six keeps them in contention but also puts their fate in the balance.

It also doesn’t fair to well for Marquette but they are better off then Clemson. After beating Villanova in a shock upset they have one win in there last five games and have to face a very good Xavier starting five but the rest of there last games.

Forbidding any slip ups I see Marquette going one for one against Xavier and going four in one in their last five games. People think Marquette stays on the bubble and Clemson falls out.

In the matchup of unknown schools on UC Davis and Texas Southern and honestly no one knows a thing about either. No one really knows who their last opponents are either but I’m fairly confident that UC Davis will make the tournament.

With that in mind for the people in bracket competitions I asked the men’s and woman’s basket ball teams to make brackets with an emphasis on the bubble. (Bubble isn’t definant so use the slot in your competition).

Melissa Simeon, sophomore, winning bubble match ups: Clemson, Mount St. Mary’s, Arkansas, Texas Southern.

Martie Mahon, junior, winning bubble match ups: Clemson, New Orleans, Arkansas, Texas Southern.

Tyreek Richardson, senior, winning bubble match ups: Clemson, Mount St. Mary’s, Arkansas, Texas Southern.

Girls Coach Mahon winning bubble match ups: Marquette, Mount St. Mary’s, Arkansas, UC Davis.

Boys Coach Coleman winning bubble match ups: Marquette, Mount St. Mary’s, Arkansas, UC Davis.
