Memes provide entertainment
Many people in this time drown themselves in ‘memes.’ These memes are photos that can be used with different captions to create very funny situations. They come in a very wide plethora of photos, providing a special meme for every imaginable situation.
Memes are a blessing. They can provide hours of entertainment and never grow old, as a new meme always rises whenever one is becoming less popular. There are a multitude of memes, dating back to the early 2000s when the first memes were born, such as Bad Luck Brian or Karate Kyle. Memes have only grown in popularity over time and have also grown in variety. They have also advanced in their entertainment levels, and every one is special in their own ways.
Each meme has a birth and a death, and die once they get overused and become ‘stale.’ Stale memes are a curse, and using a meme after its death is seen as disrespectful and disappointing. Memes usually have a life span of around a month, before they become unpopular, and a new meme rises to power. Some memes go stale faster than others though, such as Harambe, the gorilla who died for our sins, which was overused so much that the meme was even more dead than the gorilla himself.
Memes have become so popular that even businesses are using them to try and get people to use them. Some corporations, such as Wendy’s or Denny’s, have become popular through their heavy use of these. Denny’s twitter has, over time, become less of an advertisement based twitter, and become more focused on making very odd tweets about themselves that have grown in popularity, and they have become a meme, themselves.
Memes have a special place in the hearts of many people around the world, and they can provide entertainment for hours on end.
