‘Big 3’ ends summer snoozes
In the summer what do you watch? Do you watch baseball, major league soccer (not the good one)? A better question is what is there to watch in summer?
When summer comes all the good sports are gone. Football ended in February and is missed terribly, the good soccer leagues have just begun the closing stages with winners decided in almost all, basketball and hockey playoffs end in June.
What is there too watch? The slug sport baseball has little interest in American youths. Who wants to watch a long, three hour game on television that hardly has any scoring and, unless you are gambling or playing fantasy, is boring?
The same applies with the American soccer season. No one wants to watch a game of kickball with even less scoring and has only been a contest recently. It’s the soccer that every true soccer fan watches to get a good laugh, or coaches make kids watch it to tell you what not to do.
Ice Cube has the solution to nappy summer afternoon games. The “Big 3 League” is designed to have constant scoring along with the drama of resurrected basketball pros. Our favorite players, Kevin Garnett, Allen Iverson, Kobe Bryant, and all recently retired are coming back to entertain.
The speed and competitive nature of a three on three basketball brings playground excitement to your couch. The first games are set for early June in the Barclays center.
This solves the boring summers in between the FIFA world cup and the summer olympics. What a great idea.
If you are no longer sleeping at three o clock in the afternoon due to the Big 3 League, thank Ice Cube for ending your summer sports slumbers.
