Summer transfer window meets expectations
This previous weekend, soccer leagues around the world have begun, exciting fans for a new season of great soccer.
Over the past transfer window this summer, many crucial players have joined new teams, including some incredible transfers, and some not as critical.
Neymar, a top tier player on FC Barcelona, transferred to Paris St. Germain, bringing PSG to new levels of excellency, after losing Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the summer before. This was the transfer of the summer, and will be a memorable one for everyone.
Nemanja Matic, someone who has held down Chelsea’s midfield solidly for years, transferred to Manchester United after Ngolo Kante took over his position. Withing the English Premier League, this trade will help to strengthen United’s defense.
Medhi Benatia, a strong defender of Bayern Munich, transferred to Juventus, making their defense even stronger, giving them more depth. Juventus will shoot higher than before this year in hopes of possibly winning the Champion’s League, especially with their solid defensive line.
Alexandre Lacazette transferred to Arsenal from Olympique Lyonnais, brining Arsenal’s attack to new levels, as their most needed position was a new striker. Arsenal has been desperate for a new striker recently, as Olivier Giroud is very inconsistent, but with Lacazette, their attack is stronger, and they will shoot higher this year.
Youri Tielemans, a young prospect, transferred from RSC Anderlecht to AS Monaco, to further his skill and lead him to becoming one of the world’s best midfielders. A player for the future, Tielemans will increase his skill within a more competitive league in hopes of growing much better as a player.
Romelu Lukaku, a young Belgian striker from Everton, transferred to Manchester United where he will get first team action after Ibrahimovic’s season-ending injury last year. Manchester United is fully stable, and under Mourinho, can do great things this year with their young and prosperous lineup.
Mohamed Salah, a winger from Roma, transferred to Liverpool, a team aiming for the top of the Premier League this year. Salah is a very diverse and quick player, adding depth to Liverpool, giving them a stronger midfield and opening up more opportunities for success.
Bernardo Silva, a key player in Monaco’s success last season, transferred to Manchester City, where his career will be improved and can reach his full potential. Silva will increase his skill within the EPL, a more competitive league, and make his mark on Man City, a prosperous team.
