American Horror Story: Cult clowns with audience
“American Horror Story” is a television program on the channel “FX” that is structured as an anthropology series exploring in depth the darkness of human nature.
The show has come a long way since its first season, “Murder House,” and is now currently on the seventh season, “Cult,” which first aired this year on Sept. 5 with eleven total episodes. Oct. 10 is the air date of what is currently the sixth episode.
In every first episode, the show follows past seasons and provides an introduction to the new series, each opening with stunning displays including murders, assaults and fables.
Since the first season, “American Horror Story” has maintained an audience who have deemed it worthy of renewing seasons for seven years. From the beginning, viewers were intrigued by the views on humans interpreted by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk.
Before airing its new season, the show revealed that the 2016 election would coincide with the storyline for the storyline.
Upon hearing this, I was skeptical about the quality of this season. In the past, the anthropology included dark themes but had never appeared to get involved in politics.
However, upon watching the first episode, it is revealed the show incorporates politics as a form of satire. Within the first ten minutes, both political parties were already mocked with stereotypes based on modern society.
As you get further into the show, the dark sides of democrats and republicans are displayed, still keeping the creepy imagery from past seasons.
While last year’s season was a flop with writing, this season stays consistent with engaging storytelling and plot twists that felt missing from “Roanoke.” After last year’s disappointment, it is reassuring that the show still has the spark within and can continue to use it.
Unlike other seasons, “Cult” contains a large portion of scenes that cause your body to freeze, besides your heart, which races in anticipation for what comes next.
Throughout what has been aired, quality in storyline has been fluent through each episode fueling the want to continue watching.
So far, the new season has proved worthy of representing the name behind many awards and talented actors.
“Cult” is definitely true to the roots of the show and maintains individuality from past plotlines making it easy to recommend to any fan.
