The MTV Video Music Awards is a ceremony to award the best in music and movies. This year it was hosted in Santa Monica, California. Celebrities strutted down the red carpet and showcased their clothing made by elite designers.

The first celebrity, Jennifer Lopez, was shining bright like a diamond on the red carpet. Lopez wore a sparkly silver one-shoulder dress with a leg slit designed by the world-class designer Versace.

She wore $2 million’s worth of diamonds from Tiffany and Co. She looked exquisite with her unique earrings and did not look too flashy at all.

“Riverdale” star Camila Mendes, who plays Veronica Lodge on the show, wore a long, black whimsical dress designed by Elisabetta Franchi. The bodice was black lace and the rest of the skirt was sheer pleated with white bird designs.

For accessories, she wore long, dangling line earrings which added a modern touch to her red-carpet look. Mendes executed the outfit very well because instead of wearing one solid color she mixed it up with different textures.

Rapper Cardi B looked vibrant and daring in her off-the-shoulder, asymmetrical velvet magenta gown, a custom from Nicolas Jebran. She wore matching open-toe, sling-back magenta heels. A pop of green was incorporated in her look through her emerald earrings, an excellent choice that made her more eye-catching and less monochromatic.

Singer Camila Cabello slayed the red carpet with her navy strapless, high-low ombre dress that looked like it could waltz the night away with its major princess vibes. This design was by the highly respected and admired Oscar De La Renta, a designer from the Dominican Republic who got his first big break in the fashion industry by dressing Jacqueline Kennedy in the 1960s. Cabello paired her dress with silver open-toe heels and long navy drop earrings.

Reality TV star Kylie Jenner looked business chic, wearing a white blazer dress with a belt featuring a crystal rectangular buckle. Her look showcased subtle shine with her blazer dress that had crystal buttons and embellished open-toe heels.

Her dress was designed by Tom Ford who recently released his spring 2019 ready-to-wear collection. Ford released his fashion label in 2006 and ever since there has never been a decrease in his high-profile clientele.

Celebrities took countless hours preparing for the VMAs with help from their glam squads who contributed to their stars’ impeccable style. Big trends executed in a stylish manner were sheer, off-the-shoulder, bold-colored and sparkly dresses. The celebrities who entered the award ceremony made heads turn and cameras flash.
