Student athletes devote futures to sports
Despite coronavirus and cancelled seasons, PHS student athletes have committed to colleges to pursue their sports for the next four years. These athletes, coming from seven Plant teams, are continuing their athletic journeys all over the country, from Florida to New York to Texas.
After decomitting from Ohio State University, senior soccer player Claire Rain reached back out to University of Tennessee, which had their eyes on her since her freshman year. They immediately offered her a spot for the team that was the highest ranked SEC team headed into the 2019 season.
“I chose to go to Tennessee because I wanted to be closer to home, and I wanted to play in the SEC,” Rain said. “I am looking forward to play at the college level and to grow as a player and hopefully get on the national team. I am also excited to get all the free gear.”
