The warm Florida weather often makes for a lack of autumn spirit. These fall movies are bound to get anyone in the fall mood.

  • Rudy

Arguably the best underdog story of all time, “Rudy” tells the true story of Rudy Ruettiger (Sean Astin), who chased his dream of playing football at the University of Notre Dame despite not having the money nor grades to qualify for a scholarship. Football season and beautiful fall shots of Notre Dame make this heartwarming movie perfect for a cozy fall day.

  • Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

Just seeing the Great Hall decorated with floating pumpkins gets me excited about autumn. Watch all eight Harry Potter moves and make a magical fall movie marathon weekend!

  • Little Women

This amazing 2019 Greta Gerwig film, based off the book by Louisa May Alcott, follows the four March sisters from adolescence to adulthood. The old-timey New England setting screams autumn and cool weather.

Who doesn’t love this animated Peanuts special? With pumpkin picking and trick-or-treating, “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” always overcomes me with serotonin and nostalgia.

  • Good Will Hunting

Robin Williams and Matt Damon star in this heartening tale about a psychologist helping genius student reach his full potential. Its beautiful Massachusetts scenery gives the best fall vibes.

  • The Blind Side

Not only is “The Blind Side” one of my all-time favorite movies, it is bound to make anyone crave football season. Based on the touching true story, “The Blind Side” follows Michael Oher’s journey from the projects and trauma to family and football.

  • Halloweentown

Every 2000s baby knows and loves the Disney classic “Halloweentown,” which centers on a young girl who follows her grandmother to Halloweentown and discovers she comes from a family of witches.

  • Hocus Pocus

“Hocus Pocus is another Disney favorite guaranteed to put anyone in the Halloween spirit and is about three witches who come back to life after 300 years. Local AMC movie theaters and drive-in movie lots are screening “Hocus Pocus” throughout October!

  • Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

Nothing can beat this hilarious Steve Martin and John Hughes collaboration about a dad trying to make it home for Thanksgiving despite obstacles and an annoying travel mate.

  • Ghostbusters

Who are you gonna call? It’s the ‘80s Halloween classic. Get ready for Halloween by watching three spirit exterminators save New York from a ghost invasion.

  • You’ve Got Mail

“Don’t you love New York in the fall?” This Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan rom-com about two business rivals unknowingly falling in love online takes place in season-changing New York City, a perfect fall backdrop.

  • Dead Poets Society

This movie about an inspiring yet controversial teacher who is adored by his students is perfect for a calm fall afternoon. Its back-to-school vibes will put anyone in a relaxed and blissful autumn mood.
