Holding up his helmet, senior offensive lineman Rod Miller sings the alma mater after the game Friday, Nov. 13. The team finished the season with a record of 2-6.

As the bright lights of Dad’s Stadium were shut off on Friday, Nov. 13, members of the varsity football team could still be seen sitting on the field. Tears fell as the team’s season ended with a loss to Sarasota Riverview High School in the play-in round of the playoffs.

While the team finished the season 2-6, they still made memories that will last a lifetime.

“My favorite moment was watching one of my great friends Dan Fields come in after Jack Lennon got injured at Alonso,” senior linebacker Brooks Bak said.  “He led us to a game winning drive late in the fourth quarter after our defense gave up a touchdown. We ended up winning that game and it was our last win as a team.

My favorite part about playing football this year was playing with this year’s seniors one last time,” junior defensive back Nathan Powell said.

“My favorite moment was definitely against Alonso when Dan Fields was throwing to Baldwin and he tipped it to Ray and he scored to win the game,” junior wide receiver Tyler Girsh said.

My favorite play of the season was probably the game winning Sickles touchdown,” senior wide receiver Cyris Cintron-Soto said.

“My favorite moment was Parker catching the game winning touchdown during the sickles game and then running over to celebrate with him,” senior wide receiver Davis Versaggi said.

Favorite memory was the Alonso game watching Dan drive down the feild and Parker catch the game winning touchdown it was a great game and the bus ride home was super fun,” senior defensive back Cole Bonbrest said.

My favorite moment is running back the kick against Lakewood because it set the tone and it was my longest touchdown in my life,” senior wide receiver Ray DeSanto said.

Definitely my favorite was the whole sickles game where I had 11 catches for 146 yards and a touchdown,” senior wide receiver Parker White said. “But especially the game winning drive where I had 3 catches and the game winning touchdown.”

“One of my favorite plays was in the last game when me and Zack, my boy, both came in after Brooks called a check and we got the sack,” senior linebacker Miguel Torres said.

“My favorite memory from this season would definitely be after the win against sickles and the mickles chant,” junior defensive back Nick Powell said.

“My favorite play this season was probably throwing a touchdown pass to Bryson in the Alonso game,” freshman quarterback Talon Hudges said.

My favorite moment was just the whole Alonso game,” senior tight end Zack Antoniou said. “I scored my first touchdown, and my boy Dan came in clutch with a crazy game winning drive.”

“Favorite moment was getting in on my last senior game and everyone screaming Rogero,” senior defensive back Matt Rogero said.

“My favorite part of this season was when I was team captain,” senior defensive lineman Jaedon Anderson said.

The game winning touchdown from the Alonso game was my favorite because everyone went crazy and everyone fought the whole game to get that win,” senior quarterback Dan Fields said.

“My favorite memory was, after the touchdown and the victory against Alonso, doing lend me a dime on their field,” senior wide receiver Baldwin Barnes said.
