Over the last few weeks, the most popular music stars have been advertising, preparing, and starting their performances at one of the most famous music festivals, Coachella.

The music festival takes place in Indio, California each year in mid-April. The festival is two weekends long and showcases several genres of music. This year, the festival is on the weekends of April 15 and 24. Some of the featured performers of this year’s festivals are Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, and The Weekend.

On the first weekend of this year’s festival, Harry Styles closed the first day of the festival with an hour-long performance. Styles had a surprise guest, Shania Twain, perform with him for part of the show.

When referring to dancing on stage, Styles said, “I may be quick at many things, but this is not one of them!” Styles will also be performing at the second weekend of Coachella.

Another popular star that performed at the first weekend of Coachella and will be performing at the second weekend of the festival is Billie Eilish. Eilish thanked the crowd numerous times for their support and love.

During her performance, she engaged with the crowd by saying, “This is such a dream come true. I feel crazy.”

Sophomore Giada Moralejo watched clips from the festival at home. “I thought that Harry Styles’ performance was great,” Moralejo said. “He’s so good at entertaining the crowd and really drawing them into his music.”

Other students from Plant supported their favorite singers by watching the festival’s online live stream.

Sophomore Gianna Valenti watched the Harry Styles performance from home.  “I think Harry’s performance was so good,” Valenti said. “It was everything I was expecting and more! The outfit and the songs were just what us Harry fans wanted.”
