Many Plant students signed to their future alma maters on Nov. 9, surrounded by their closest family, friends, and teammates.

Multiple student-athletes involved in sports at Plant have committed to continue their athletic and academic careers at colleges and universities across the country. Plant has been a successful producer of college-level student-athletes for many years. Last year, three students signed: Alyssa Rodriguez (tennis), Ryker Demarest (lacrosse), and Sophia Kotsovolos (volleyball). This senior class has 11 students committed, including Lauren Luciani, Gracie Ciccarello, Morgan Sieper, William Willard, Tanner Strickland, Grace de la Torre, Robert Satin, Trey Freeman, Jack Meade, and Michael Hawks. Many of them are anxiously awaiting the opportunity to showcase their talents at a higher level and meet new athletes from across the country. Ciccarello committed to playing softball at Eckerd College in Saint Petersburg, Florida.

“I’m excited to compete and play with college-level players, and I can’t wait to play with my future teammates and learn everything I can from my future coach,” Ciccarello says.

Ciccarello has been dreaming of this chance since beginning the sport at the age of four and feels grateful to the many individuals who encouraged her to pursue her dreams.

“My family, coaches, and teammates were huge factors in helping me get to where I am now. I am so grateful for this opportunity,” says Ciccarello.

The dedication these student-athletes have shown proves that hard work and a good mentality can help you reach your goals. Coaches from every sport were in attendance Wednesday, Nov. 9, to watch their students officially sign to their college teams. Congrats students!
