Food truck rally fights to end hunger

Calling all foodies! Get hungry, because this is the perfect event for you. On Sept 26, Hyde Park Presbyterian Church will be hosting the end 68 hours of hunger food truck rally. This delicious rally’s proceeds will benefit the end 68 hours of hunger organization.

This remarkable foundation’s objective is to end the 68 hours some children go without food. To help raise money, the church will also be hosting a silent auction where 100 percent of the proceeds will go to purchasing food bags for over 1300 children nationwide. These bags come fully stocked with two breakfasts, two lunches and three dinners. So much food is stored in these bags that leftovers are almost always guaranteed! Food bags will cost each child $10.

If you do decide to stop in, you may run into Madison Norman, Freshman. When asked what her thoughts were on this cause, Madison Norman, freshman, said, “I thinks it’s really good that people are giving to others less fortunate. We have so much money and we need to give back.”

Five other food trucks will be joining Ben Rampt, from Mr. C’s Grilled Cheese, who stated, “This [rally] is a great cause because hunger is a terrible thing that kids all over our country and our community are dealing with right this second.” Ben also said that he has not worked with any other charities but looks forward to working with more in the future. Make sure you have an empty stomach because, along with Mr. C’s Grilled Cheese, food from Whatever Pops, Dochos Concessions and many more will be featured.
