Instagram account spotlights students

In the summer of 2010, Brandon Stanton started a blog with the goal of photographing 10,000 New Yorkers and telling their stories. Since then, ‘Humans of New York’ has grown into an Instagram account with eight million followers, a New York Times bestselling book, another book on the way and inspiration for hundreds of imitations. Here, we have our very own version, ‘Humans of Plant High’. Started by a class of 2015 alumna and briefly on hiatus, the account has been restored and revamped with new posts every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Posts revolve around a conversation between interviewers and a single student prompted by questions ranging from ‘What’s your story?’ to ‘Do you have any advice for underclassmen?’ The account offers an insight into the lives and perspectives of classmates that would otherwise remain anonymous faces in the hallways.

Humans of Plant High posts can be found on Instagram (@HumansofPlantHigh) as well as the Pep O’ Plant website.
