Drama Burger lands in Tampa

Now open on the corner of Kennedy Blvd and Armenia Ave, Drama Burger offers a foreign twist on the classic burgers and fries. The Lithuanian restaurant’s new location is its first in the United States and boasts a laid-back atmosphere and experimental menu.

It’s plain to see, even before entering the restaurant, that Drama Burger stands apart from other burger joints. The building’s all-white walls are decorated inside and out with eclectic cartoon-style art by Lithuanian painter and tattoo artist, David Schiesser.

A comfortable and relaxed air continues throughout the inside, with casual table seating, couches and bar seating available. Large windows let in natural light to illuminate plants hung from the ceiling. The space is small with limited seating and parking, so wait time is to be expected during mealtime rushes, but once seated the staff is quick, attentive and friendly.

Open at 11 am daily and closing at 10 at the earliest, it’s likely Drama Burger will be open for both sit-down and take-out service when cravings strike.

Drama Burger’s menu includes staples such as the classic cheeseburger and french fries, but also spans to a salmon burger, fried breadsticks and avocado appetizers- all homemade. Also available are vegetarian the portobello and goat cheese burger, a lamb burger, unconventional side dishes and a number of salads. Every new month offers a new ‘Burger of the Month’ allowing the cooks to try out new experiments in flavor combinations.

The main attraction, though, are the home-smoked Pastrami sandwiches and Pastrami burgers, made from a ‘well-guarded recipe’ from Europe. Completely homemade and taking nine days of work to prepare, the specialty sandwiches and burgers are only available Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

For beverages, two varieties of hand-crafted lemonade, a blueberry milkshake and wine and craft beer are provided. On the dessert menu, patrons will find crafty Key Lime panna cotta and red velvet cake.

Overall, excellent food with unexpected ingredient combinations are well worth the price. Drama Burger is located at 2420 W Kennedy Blvd.
