Freshmen experience first day of high school
High school. A milestone in a student’s educational career. Today, hundreds of wide-eyed and nervous freshman entered the front doors of plant high and finally earned the status of Plant Panthers.
Among them Cal Richards who “thought it was going to be a lot more hectic” enjoyed his first day. He “plans on being on the cross country team and in marching band,” an opportunity he was not given in middle school.
Another freshman Kendal Kelly, who got lost moving from class to class said her day “wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be.” She was excited about “meeting new people” and being involved in the swim team.
Even though it’s the first day of school, students such as Reagan Farmer are already strategizing a way to study for their classes. She plans on “using note cards and quizlet” to help her throughout the year. In addition to her studies, Reagan plans on participating “in different clubs and musical theatre.”
