Manchester City played Borussia M’gladbach, which was originally supposed to be played yesterday, and Manchester City opened up their Champions League campaign with a fantastic four to zero victory, involving a hat-trick from Sergio Aguero.

Tottenham Hotspur lost to AS Monaco, two to one, which was a game they should have won and a game they needed to win.

Bayer Leverkusen tied CSKA Moscow, a game that Leverkusen should have won, but lost out on due to their lack of a solid defense.

Real Madrid beat Sporting CP of Portugal two to one, with two late goals occurring in the 89th and 95th minutes. Sporting got very unlucky as they did very well to hold back the previous champions.

Borussia Dortmund destroyed Legia Warsaw of Poland six to zero, and had complete control of the entire game, not allowing Warsaw to do much.

Leicester City’s first ever Champions League game was a solid victory over Club Brugge of Belgium by a score of three to zero.

Juventus was very unlucky to not be able to capitalize against Sevilla as they had complete control of the game, but it ended as a tie by a score of zero to zero.

Olympique Lyonnais beat Dynamo Zagreb of Croatia  three to zero, an important win in the very tough group they are a part of.

FC Porto of Portugal tied FC Copenhagen of Denmark one to one, a result both teams would be proud of.

This first round of Champions League soccer was a very exciting one, but many upsets did not take place, which is one thing that happens quite often. Every team who is strong in their league seems to be even stronger in the Champions League. This upcoming year of soccer will be an absolute treat to fans of it around the world.
