Appealing to the people of South Tampa who desire to live a healthy lifestyle, Intelligent Gourmet does this and more. Located on Henderson Blvd., Intelligent Gourmet is a fresh food and juice bar.

Intelligent Gourmet holds a similar concept of the So Fresh restaurants that offer healthy pre prepared meals for those who enjoy eating healthy but cannot make the time to cook for themselves.

Walking in, the décor is modern and clean looking, which is an appealing combination. The restaurant is small and accommodates small groups of people especially well. The restaurant mostly functions as a take out location but upon request they can plate meals for customers who prefer to eat there.

The menu includes salads, entrees, desserts, and fresh juices. All of the food is on the pricier side with the juices being 12 dollars each and most of the meals ranging from 10-11 dollars each.

The downside of this restaurant is the prices especially. When you order an entrée, the food is about half the portion needed to provide for an average person’s appetite and you pay twice what you should be paying for a meal. Then to top it off, the price of a juice is the same as buying four small smoothies from Xtreme Juice, which is equally as healthy.

Intelligent Gourmet offers juice cleanses alike many juice bars in Tampa, but similarly to their prices they are higher than restaurants like Swami Juice and Urban Juice. Their sizing of juices is slightly larger which makes the price of 12 dollars more understandable, but they lack the variety of juices to compete with the more well known juice companies.

While Intelligent Gourmet is a good option to those who are vegan and especially conscious of what they put into their bodies regarding it being gluten or dairy free, Fresh Kitchen offers lower prices and more of a filling choice to those looking for a healthy lunch.
