Boys Baseball’s season is upon us and the plan for the season is no different, to win.

Coach Dennis Braun says that the goal is to play to the team’s best ability, which includes winning.

“I think its winning games and championships, getting to the playoffs and winning playoff games,” Braun said.

This goal may be tough to accomplish, as the district in which the team competes is very tough, with the teams that make it out of usually do very well.

“In our district we have Steinbrenner, who won the state title last year, so its going to come down to us and Steinbrenner and a few other teams in our region like Durant, Riverview,” Braun said. “One thing that has always been difficult in baseball and in this county is getting out of our county. The teams that get out of this county usually get to the Final Four.”

The team hopes to build upon last year’s successful season, and that starts with the returners.

“We got a lot of returning guys from last year, we had a great season last year and I think we are looking forward to continuing that into this year,” Braun said. “I think 2017 can be a very special year for this team.”

According to Braun, the team has surprised him by improving since last season.

“The surprising part is that everybody has gotten better, everybody has gotten stronger, and I think we have done a good job of building off of last year,” Braun.
