Senior summer to-do list

1) Save Up Money- Going to college can be expensive. Saving up money over the summer might be a good a way to enter the next school year. Many college students live very frugally, and though this is something to learn how to do, having a little extra pocket money will give you more options.

2) Reinvent your style- College is the perfect time to experiment with style. Throw out the dress code and wear what you want. No one in college will care is you dress like a hippy or a 90s Rockstar. Experimenting with styles can help one to find a sense of self.

3) Go on a road trip- Whether with friends or the family, taking a nice road trip can help grow relationships before leaving for college. The road trip doesn’t have to be far, but it is important to cherish moments with loved ones. A fun and easy idea could be going on a hike.

4) Relax- College will be very stressful so it is important to take some time to relax beforehand. A little hibernation in the summer is alright. It is also important to recharge before school begins

5) Take up a new hobby- In college, you will be able to take a variety of classes. It might be a good idea to research some activities you would like to learn. These activities can be started over the summer however college offers many clubs in which activities and hobbies may be learned.

6) Take advantage of Netflix/video games- Most college students don’t have access to a TV or game counsel. Even if a student has a TV in their dorm, most do not have the time to dedicate a part of their life to a TV show or video game. So over the summer it is important to take use of Netflix and video games. Time will be limited in college.

7) Appreciate food/learn to dorm room cook- College food is not going to be like home cooked meals. For those who opt to live without a meal plan, they might not have the time to cook anything gourmet. So, before college, it is necessary to appreciate the home cooked meals, and possibly learn how to learn how to cook dorm room food in the process.
