A show on television that has recently seen a spike in popularity is “Impractical Jokers.” This TV show airs on TruTV, with new episodes every Thursday at 10 p.m., and typically airing most nights for hours on end.

The show’s plot involves four best friends who are aiming to embarrass each other through difficult challenges they have to perform to random people in public, ending with embarrassment and emotional strife among the four.

The four friends, named Joe Gatto, James Murray, “Murr”, Brian Quinn, “Q” and Sal Vulcano, are all masters of improvisation, which they use to come up with the painfully awkward statements to say in these already pitiful situations.

If they do not perform the task they are assigned, they lose challenge, in which all four “Jokers” have a chance to succeed or fail the challenge. Each episode contains around three normal challenges, each one funny in their own way. The person, or people, with the most losses at the end of each episode have to do a punishment, in which there are no rules, except for the fact that the person must do what they are told, no questions asked.

There is nothing more fun to the Jokers than making their friend go through unbearable emotional pain. They are relentless in every way, and their natural wit and humor latches everyone to the show.

These punishments push the limits of awkward and traumatic, leaving not only the participant in pain, but everyone who is watching it. Every punishment is distressing in their own ways, from public embarrassment, to insane stunts.

Some of the most agonizing punishments to date were, Brian’s dare to go on a baseball field, during a break in the game, and publicly reject a proposal from an actor, who goes out of her way to make it seem real as possible. Another brutal one is one which Sal and Joe have to go on stage and be the opening act for Imagine Dragons, playing instruments which they have no idea how to play, and making up songs on the spot, humiliating themselves in front of thousands of people, all being judgmental towards their lack of musical talent.

“Impractical Jokers” is a show that everybody needs to get hooked on, because every episode is so entertaining and worth watching multiple times.
