Flag football season starts up

“Flag football is a fun sport, and I’m looking forward to defending our state title and our top football program in the state of Florida,” Head Coach Bo Puckett said.

Tryouts are coming up in the next couple of weeks, which has left mixed emotions for many girls.

“I’m really nervous, but super excited. I think if I just play my best and work hard I’ll have a chance of making the team,” freshman Bryn Wolfe said.

Over the past couple of months, Coach Puckett and his fellow coaches have been conducting a flag football club to teach the ropes of the game.

“We’ve seen a lot of new talent; I’m super excited for the upcoming season and what we’re going to bring,” Puckett said.

The varsity quarterback Jesse Harbaugh has been on the flag football team for three years; the next season will be her fourth.

“It’s been so amazing to see us all improve and work hard over these past couple of years. It’s like being a part of a second family,” Harbaugh said.

Flag football has been around for about ten years, and has become more popular.

“I’ve heard a lot of girls are trying out, and I really hope I make the team because the coaches and the players are all super nice,” junior Eva Damon said.

The upcoming season is looked forward to from many.

“I’m just ready to play and kick butt,” said sophomore Amelia Spicola.
