Best date spots for Valentine’s Day

  • The Beach: As the weather finally begins to warm up, the beach is a great option for a date this Valentine’s Day. Clearwater is a popular option and isn’t too far of a drive for the day. Anna Maria is also a good place for those who want a less crowded beach.
  • Drive-In Movie: A cute and unique option, a drive-in movie will not disappoint. Though it’s a little out of the way, it’s a fun option that is also cheaper than regular movie theaters. Paying once will give you admission to multiple movies, times of which can be found on each theatre’s website. The closest options are the Funlan Drive In on Hillsborough Ave and the Ruskin Drive Inn on N U.S. Hwy 41.
  • Go Out to Dinner: Even without spending a lot of money, there’s a lot of great dinner spots throughout Tampa. Everybody has different favorites, so talk to your date and decide what would be best for you two. If you’re stuck, S. Howard Ave has a wide variety of fun and delicious options. Going out to dinner also gives you the opportunity to dress up and look nice for your date.
  • Topgolf: For a couple that likes golf or a little friendly competition, this would be a great date. Topgolf offers a fun, unique golf experience as well as a variety of yummy food options. Also, the first 50 couples that arrive this year for lunch at 11 a.m. or dinner at 6 p.m. will receive a free Valentine’s Day gift bag.
  • Picnic: Various spots throughout Tampa are perfect spots for a nice outdoor picnic. Pack you and your date’s favorite foods and find a good place, such as Curtis Hixon or Seaplane Basin Park on Davis Island. The weather is also supposed to be cool and refreshing this weekend, making being outside optimal this Valentine’s Day.
